Plot: Watanuki is a high school student who is haunted by the fact that he can see ghosts. One day he stumbles into a shop owned by a mysterious woman named Yuko who sells wishes- for a price of course. Watanuki asks Yuko to grant his wish of freedom from the hunting visions of ghosts and spirits. Yuko agrees but in return Wananuki must work for her as a part-time employee to pay off his wish. Yuko's shop is frequented by many different people and spirits seeking out their heart's deepest desires. Thus begins a journey into the spirit world that Watanuki is completely unprepared for. Luckily he will have some help along the way- even when he doesn't want it.

Plot: Two women named "Nana" meet unexpectedly one day on a train and end up as best friends. They both come from very different backgrounds- one with a punk rock attitude and another with the naive upper middle class mindset. One Nana desires to fulfiil her dream of becoming a famous punk rock singer, and to prove that she's just as good as her (ex) boyfriend who left to her to become a famous musician in Tokyo. The other Nana doesn't have much on her plate as far as life goals, and she desires to find the man of her dreams and discover what she really wants to do in life. Their lives intertwine more and more tightly as they move in together. Will these two friends be able to keep their bond of friendship strong even as one seeks fame and recognition while the other seeks love and happiness?

Plot: Set in Hiroshima, ten years after the atomic bomb was dropped during WWII. A young woman struggles to come to terms with the fact that she survived the bomb that was dropped when she was a little girl. She lost a sister due to radiation poisoning, and she herself has been affected as well. She no longer lives in Hiroshima, but when her father disappears she has a feeling he has gone to Hiroshima- the city where he met her mother. She decides to journey back to Hiroshima to find him and discover the mystery of why he has gone away.

Plot: At first glance, Mashiro appears to be a regular high school student but he hides a deep secret which he's kept hidden his entire life. He is neither fully male nor female. His upper body appears to be male, but his lower body is female, although he aligns himself with a male gender identity. One day he is enlisted into mysterious weekly class where him and five other students enter a dream state in which they all share the same nightmare. In these dream states each student appears in a form which reflects their true heart. Mashiro is horrified to discover he appears as a girl in the dreams. Each student must battle against each other to obtain a "key" which can be used to graduate. Things only get more complicated when he beings to receive affection from both male and female classmates.

There is one catch though- the person buying a pet must adhere to rules put in place by Count D on a signed contract. If they don't follow through... there can be deadly consequences. Officer Orcot is called in to investigate the shop after it's connected with a number of mysterious deaths. He sets out to uncover the mystery surrounding D and his vast array of exotic pets. Is Orcot in over his head? This macabre tale peers into the very soul of human nature.

Plot: This collection of 6 books features fairy-tale like stories about love and life experiences. Told with gritty realism, these stories are drawn from daily metropolitan life in our times. The first book, Between the Sheets, Minako is a shy girl who is captivated with her best friend, Saki. These feelings soon grow into love, and as Minako's obsession with Saki grows, so does her jealousy.

Plot: Shinjyurou is an embalmer, which is considered an unclean and profane profession in Japan- unlike the way it's viewed in America. Because of this, Shinjyuro has become somewhat of an outcast in his home country of Japan. To him, embalming is simply a job, but one he views as a way to help give closure to those who are left behind to mourn for their loved ones. His way of coping with literally having to look death in the face every day is by sleeping around with beautiful women, much to the gall of his landlord's daughter. She aims to uncover the secrets of Shinjyurou's past, and why did he decide to become an embalmer in Japan, of all places?

Plot: The first volume of this series is called Sweat and Honey which is a collection of short stories examining the secret desires and longings of the soul with an emphasis on vulnerability and frailty of the human condition. In the first story, a woman's younger cousin has moved in with her. She finds her self becoming attracted to the sweet girl in contrast to the men she's seeing. The second story stars a "flower girl" who literally grew up out of the ground and becomes a companion to a woman living near by. Next, a girl on the bring of womanhood learns to love herself for who she is. The longest story of the book dares to examine the dysfunctional relationship between a sister, her friend and her emotionally distant brother. The last story takes a look into the world of pre-pubescent boys around that awkward time of becoming an adolescent.
